Claire F. Halpin
Senior Project Leader
Claire has been interested in buildings and cities since as far back as she can remember. Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, Claire migrated south to Chicago in 1997 to study architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago. After completing her undergraduate degree, she worked at a small design-build firm for several years, completed a master’s degree in architecture at McGill University in Montréal, and then returned to Chicago and joined Studio Gang in early 2007. Despite devoting most waking hours to architecture, she maintains several other interests such as music, ecology, and bicycling and feels that a wide worldview and other creative pursuits are crucial to informing her work at Studio Gang.
Because everything from mushrooms to rivers to cinematography is considered relevant to our design projects.
