The Welcome Center, part of OMA’s award-winning Illinois Institute of Technology McCormick-Tribune Campus Center, serves as the entry point for visitors to the entire IIT Campus. The design of the space—a glass holographic projection screen, integrated plasma screens and digital projection on the floor plane—makes technology invisible while enabling visitor orientation and the telling of IIT history and current events through short films. Interactive controls rise from the floor, while projection equipment and lighting sink into the ceiling for a "no hands" approach to museum design. SGA also designed movable furnishings for the space and completed Construction Administration for the entire project.
